Opportunities for students with disabilities

The Arberry Profile is our longest established magazine and a nationally recognised authority in its field. The Arberry Profile has been produced in collaboration with young graduates with a disability since its launch.

The Arberry Profile features
• Careers advice and opportunities for disabled graduates as well as graduate lifestyle concerns.

• Advice on careers, managing student finances and making the most of work experience and travel, preparing a CV and perfecting interview and presentation skills.

• Interviews with a host of disabled people who have triumphed in their chosen career in spite of one disability or another including Stephen Hawking, David Blunkett, Tanni Grey Thompson MBE and Charlotte Kelly.

• Specialist disability related articles on issues such as terminology, corporate culture, office ergonomics, legislation and work related trends.

• Lifestyle issues such as new music, films, art, festivals, legislation, health and sport.

• 'Fast facts' and in-depth reviews of graduate career options.

Distribution
The guiding principle to the distribution of The Arberry Profile is to make a copy available to every student with a disability who is determined to compete on equal terms with other graduates in the optimum context.

The Arberry Profile is distributed in print format during the Autumn terms of the academic year, primarily through university careers services and departments and through Arberry Pink’s comprehensive database of on campus disabilities’ officers, university societies and organisations. Through our close connections with key student organisations and representatives, The Arberry Profile is distributed throughout the academic year at critical student events such as conferences and recruitment fairs.

Clients
The Arberry Profile attracts blue chip clients, as well as government departments, all of whom have a structured and planned approach to graduate recruitment and have an open-minded and supportive approach to recruitment and career development. The Arberry Profile is not about giving graduates with a disability an unequal advantage. Rather, it is about encouraging applications from high calibre graduates and advertising in a context where specific disability issues and concerns can be readily addressed.
